Mr. Dustin Zahmdzahm@holbrook.k12.ma.us Facts About Me: I am originally from a small town in Western New York and moved to Massachusetts in 2012. I have now been teaching Biology at Holbrook for the past 5 years. I originally planned on entering the field of environmental science prior to becoming a teacher and remain very passionate about environmental issues.
Teaching: It is my goal as a teacher to continually strive to find new ways to help my students understand the material and reach their potential as student’s as well as individuals. My goal is to fully prepare each of my students to learn the skills and build a foundation of biological knowledge that will enable them to be successful if they choose to pursue a scientific major and career. I understand that not all of my students will ultimately pursue a scientific major, so I will also incorporate real world situations where understanding biology allows for individuals to make informed decisions that are in their best interest as well as the best interest of the planet.
Hobbies: Hiking, skiing, kayaking, watching sports, and playing with my dog Emi Education: Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, MA (MAT in Biology, In Progress) Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY (B.A. in Biology: Adolescent Education, 2010) SUNY ESF in Syracuse, NY (Environmental Science, Transferred) SUNY JCC in Jamestown, NY (A.S. in Math and Science, 2006)
